Stuttering
A
generally 1.5-7yo at onset occurs equally M/F but F more likely to outgrow, those in whom it persists are usu M Normal: usu 2-5yo usu lasts 12-24mos brief, intermittent, worse when tired/stressed doesn't bother child Mild: frequent (3% of speech) accompanied by eye closing, facial tension somewhat intermittent *refer if >6-8wks Severe: 10% of speech, prolonged consistent/nonfluctuating bothers child refer immediately

Nocturnal Enuresis
A
Defined as >5yo
— 15% at 5yo, 1% by 15yo
Red Flags: diurnal enuresis (daytime accidents too), encopresis, dysuria/frequency/hesitancy, abnormal U/A

A
begins as early as 18wks in utero
peaks 18-21mos
normally resolves by age 4
