Ferdinand Magellan and his crew were the first people to circumnavigate the globe, meaning travel all the way around. Magellan died but his crew is credited with the accomplishment.

A

The Portuguese took control over many African Trading posts that were once controlled by Arabs. They were able to use these posts to repair or restock thier ships to India, and they also were able to take part in the Slave Trade.

How did the Slave trade benefit European Nations?

A

Slaves bought in Africa were brought to the New world and put on Plantations to work for no pay as slaves. Money was made off of this because slaves could farm, or mine, and Europeans could make money off there hard work.

How did the slave trade destabilize African territories?

A

African Rulers sold slaves to buy weapons to grow their power and wealth. Because Slaves were so valuable, Africans would go to war with the sole purpose of gathering slaves to sell to Europeans. African rulers who wanted to defend themselves from being attacked needed guns, which could only be bought by selling European slaves. This caused lots of war in Africa.

A

Koreans isolated themselves completely and did not trade or communicate with Europeans.
Japanese at first accepted trading and communicating with Europeans but after they learned how Europeans took over and Colonized the Philippines they stopped communication with Europeans.
