What is the definition of Bedmaking?
Its the proper adjustment of bed linens to promote patient comfort and prevent spread of microorganisms
What is its purpose
- client comfortability
- decrease pathogens in clients environment
- allow patient to have clean, dry, and wrinkle free linens
- reduces potential for skin breakdown and helps control odor
what are the principles of infection control
- microorganisms move through space via air currents and through conduction
- Proper handwashing prevents microorganisms from spreading via conduction
what are the principles of body mechanics
- person or object more stable when center of gravity close to the base of support
- always point your body towards direction of the task
- Lower the head of the client before moving him or here

What are the 2 types of beds
Standard and Special
This type of bed has firm matress
Standard Bed
This type of bed maintains strict body alignment and rotates on its axis
Special Bed
This bed is operated electrically by pushing buttons to rotate the bed. It permits frequent turning.
