BECAUSE Soundboard Flashcards
Why don’t you come?»_space; Because I’m tired.
[kəz]
Study the ‘because’ reduction. Sometimes it is pronounced as 1 syllable, [kəz], and sometimes as two [bɪ kəz]. Even though the second reduction is a two-syllable word, both syllables will feel unstressed when this word is unstressed. There are no rules about when to pronounce it one way and when to use the other – both are okay at all times.
