-The soils are GRANITE and CLAY and face east and SouthEast.
-It produces both SHORT and LONG macerations: Short gives light, fruity and perfumed wines
Long gives more tannic and structured with Kirsch and cake spices, who can age, It became pinot noir like with age (PINOTER)

  • Soils are soft and flaky ARÈNE with decomposed PINK GRANITE with manganese.

  • King of Beaujolais, MOST full bodied and tannic of all the Crus. Plum, cherry and Violet when young. With age develops dried fruits, truffle, cake spices and rose, musky and meaty.

  • Full bodied, meaty flavors, powefull, good for ageing
  • Soils are ROCHES POURRIES (rotted rocks) which is DECOMPOSSED SCHIST rich in iron and manganese.
  • Caracteristic Cherry notes because of the rotten Rocks.
  • Whith age develops earthy notes of forest floor, like PN, they say it goes MORGONNE.

  • Its the BIGGEST (20% of all aocs) and SOUTHERMOST
  • Most influenced by mediterranean warmth.
  • Soils are DECOMPOSED DIORITE (Volcanic Rock) almost blue-black in color, gives a blue-green hue to soil. Locals call it Cornes Vertes
  • Wines have fresh grape, red berry and plum

Nouveau, Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages and Crus

Noveau should be drunk upon release, chilled.
Beau and Beau Villages REDS and WHITES within 1-2 years chilled
Crus can age 5 to 10 depending the cru, they will go PINOTENT.
