Geology of Northern Beaujolais
Granite created 300 millons years ago was pushed up 33 millons yrs ago along with Masiff central. this process metamorphosed lava with heat and preassure creating Schist, which surfaced along the granite.
Interspersed along iare sandy soils of Feldspars, Mica and Quartz refered as ARÈNE or GORRHE.
