Structure
The poem starts mid-action which helps us to feel like the soldier- thrust chaotically into the middle of the action.
Caesura and enjambment also echo the chaotic nature of war so that the reader can ‘feel’ them.
Repetition of ‘raw’ - relates to not being able to understand the true horrors of war- references a poem by Wilfred Owen as it is impossible to express in his own words.
