Basics- Practice Flashcards
Well, what’s your price?
The range is between X and Y.
That’s too expensive
Mr. Jones, a lot of our customers initially had the same reaction until they actually got a chance to see the benefits. You know, we really should get together.
Them: Gee, I’m not sure that fits what we’re doing here.
Me: You know, that’s what other people said who decided to work with us. We really should get together. How’s Tuesday at 2:00?
Them: Gee, I’m not sure that’s right for us.
Me: Some other people we work with now had the same reaction at first. That’s why we should get together. How’s Tuesday at 2:00?
Them: We’re not interested in marketing. We don’t believe in it here.
Me: I’m just curious… if you don’t use marketing, what is it that you do? What do you do to get customers?
Them: Whatever they say.
Me: That’s great, Mr. Jones! Then we should get together, because we work with a lot of other companies that have done the exact same thing. How about next Tuesday at 3:00?
Them: Headquarters makes that kind of decision.
Me: Okay. I’m just curious, what do you do? What’s your role there?
Them: Whatever they say
Me: That’s interesting. Based on what you’ve told me, I think we should get together.
Branch manager: I’d love to meet with you but we don’t make any decisions here. All the decisions are made in Ohio.
Me: Oh, well, I’m curious what kind of marketing do you do?
Them: Whatever they say.
Me: You know something, we should get together, because we really complement those programs.
Them: We’re really not working with any other outside marketers. We just signed a contract with someone.
Me: Oh, that’s interesting. I’m just curious, who’d you sign with?
Them: We just signed with XYZ Company.
Me: You know what? We should get together, because we complement their program.
Them: I’m the wrong person to talk to.
Me: Gee, I’m curious, what is it you do?
Them: No matter what they say
Me: Oh, then you know what? We should get together.
Them: *If they’re really not the right person, they will let you know.
Me: Oh, then who should I talk to?
