What is an arrangement view?
The Arrangement View = displays the arrangement, which contains music laid out along a song timeline, like a multitrack tape. All DAWs have them.
What is a session view?
A sketch pad for designing musical elements for your arrangement. Has a non-linear workflow.
What is tempo?
Tempo is the speed or pace of a composition and is measured by BPM. Important in characterising your genre of music.
What does the “collect all and save” feature in the ‘file’ section do?
This feature allows you to save all external files in one project.
What is velocity?
How hard a note is hit. Velocity can be changed in beats to increase interest and variety.
Editing MIDI - what does it entail?
Includes kit sounds, drums, and drawing notes.
Editing audio - involves what?
Involves audio effects, transpose, and warp.
What is transpose?
To change the key (principle pitch) of a piece of music.
What is warp?
To manipulate the tempo and pitch of your audio independently of one another. Allows you to time-stretch audio clips without affecting their pitch.
