How is a paediatric respiratory exam carried out?
General inspection: aids/ assistance, BMI, cyanosis/color ,drugs, exertion,
Look for signs of respiratory distress. Respiratory rate. Grunting. Wheeze.
Hands look for finger Clubbing.
Eyes, nose and mouth
Tracheal deviation or tug
Chest wall: scars, apex beat, expansion, percussion, auscultation
Lymph nodes
Always do an ear, nose and throat exam.

General inspection: aids/assistance, BMI, color/cyanosis, development, drugs, exertion
Hands: clubbing, temperature
Pulses
Eyes, mouth
Feel chest for heaves, CRT and auscultate (HCA)
