Q

what type of theory is it?

A

o Act centred- the theory where the act is the focus of the moral judgement
o For Kantians, the focus has intrinsic value
o Whereas for utilitarians the act has instrument value.
o For both theories moral judgement focuses on what the agent is doing.
Agent centred theories- are ethical approaches that are focused on the development of the person rather than on the morality of what they are doing. In agent centred theories the agent is the focus of the moral judgement (character) acts are not ignored in agent centred theories however, they are not the focus of moral judgement.
