What is an induced termination of pregnancy
Purposeful interruption of an intrauterine pregnancy that has the intention other than to produce a liveborn neonate and does not result in a live birth
Difference between direct and indirect maternal death vs nonmaternal death
Direct maternal death results from OB complications from interventions, omissions, incorrect treatment or a chain of events of any of these factors. While, indirect maternal death is not directly due to an OB cause. On the other hand, nonmaternal death is from accidental or incidental causes not related to pregnancy.
Difference between pregnancy-associated death vs pregnancy-related death
Pregnancy-associated death, from any cause, while pregnant or within 1 calendar yr of termination, regardless of the duration and site of pregnancy. While pregnancy-related deaths associated with complications, chain of events or aggravation of an unrelated condition by the physiological or pharmacological effects
