Astronomy
The scientific study of space (what is beyond Earth)
Universe
Everything that exists; matter, space and energy all make up the universe
Star
A massive collection of gases that have its own gravity that holds it together and emits large amounts of energy
Luminous
The ability to produce and give off light
Non-luminous
Not able to produce or give off light so to see it, a luminous object, such as the sun, has to produce light wavelengths that reflect off of the object and into our eyes
Planet
A large, spherical object in space (celestial object) that orbits around a star
Solar System
the Sun and any other object that travels around it
Natural Satellite
A celestial object that orbits around a planet or dwarf planet
Artificial Satellite
An artificial object that orbits around Earth
Galaxy
A huge rotating collection made up of gases, dust, billions of stars, planets or other celestial objects
