Action verbs
Verbs used for an action that has happened or that is takingplace in the time of soeaking or that is done habitually.
Two action verbs which cannot be used in continuous
Own and belong
State verb
Verb which expresses the condition of someone or something, or the state they’re in.
They are not usually in continuous
Transitive verbs
Verbs which must have an object to convey meaning
Intransitive verbs
Action verbs which dont need an object to convey meaning
Linking verb
Verbs that link a subject with a word or ohrase that identifies the subject, an adjective.
Regular verbs
They have a simple past tense and past participle end in d or ed
Irregular verbs
They dont have a past participle and simple past tense with d lr ed
Finite verbs
They have a tense
Non finite verbs
They dont have a tense
