Hoseline to cover 1st floor. Assess threshold, Foyer, protect stairs between floors 1 and 2.

A
close basement door or direct stream at 1st floor ceiling above basement door.

If delay of 2nd due to basement fire, 1st due should consider? (and make notifications as command)
A
After size-up, make entry and attack fire from any entrance. If conditions tenable w/ charged hoseline may descend basement steps (relayed). If non of these options, back out and straight stream from exterior window.
