What are BCCs?
A
BBC is the most common form of skin cancer.
aka Rodent Ulcer
Metastasis is rare.
Very locally destructive.

Risk factors for BCC
A
- fair skin
- accumulative lifetime sun exposure

Presentation of BCC?
A
typically: pearly nodule with a raised, red, edge. May be scaly. Often on face.
- usually nodular
- may be erythematous or non pigmented
- may be plaque like
- may be ulcerated
- can crust over, heal and reduce a bit but generally enlargement is progressive

Treatment for BCC?
A
- surgical excision, 3mm margin
- can use topicals (but not on head or neck):
- imiquimod
- cryotherapy may be suitable
Recurrence is about 5%
