Q

What are the 5 different window types?

A

1) Annealed or Plate Glass-regular glass (big shards)
2) Tempered Glass-treated and resistant to breakage, fragments into small pieces.
3) Wired Glass-resistance against large objects but may still shatter.
4) Laminated Glass-two panes of regular glass combined using a plastic material to minimize damage when broken
5) Bullet/Burglar resistant glass. Stronger Resistance to attack, is laminated, multiple panes/piles of glass, poly-carbonate, other plastic films provide many levels of ballistic resistance.

Q

What are the nine different fence types?

A

1) High Strength Cable fence (used for vehicle control)
2) Electric Fence (Live wire deterrent or monitored fence, both shock, but second has alarm)
3) Razor wire (Barbed Tape) or Concertina Wire Fence (6 inches between wires)
4) Concrete Fence (Building blocks, easily scaled)
5) Decorative Fence (use when appearance is paramount)
6) Wooden Fence (For low security and can be augmented with barbed wire/concertina)
7) Expanded Metal Fencing (difficult to cut and much better than chain link)
8) Welded Wire Fence (cheaper than Expanded Metal Fencing but still better than chain link)
9) Chain link fencing

Q

What is a Fencing Top Guard/Outrigger?

A

Q

What are the four considerations when installing chain link fencing? What are the 3 kinds of posts?

A

1) Do not exceed 10ft (3m) between posts
2) No more than 2 inches between any building and terminal post
3) Diameter of post holes should be 4 times larger than largest cross section.
4) Fence fabric over 12 feet high requires a central rail brace. Terminal Posts are placed at the end corners and to support gates. Pull Posts are terminal posts bracing a long section of of fence or for installed to accommodate elevation change. All other posts are line posts.

Q

What are two types of plastic glazing?

A

1) Acrylic (Lucite and Plexiglas) Can be penetrated in less than 10 seconds (not typically recommended)
2) Polycarbonates: offer impact resistance, up to two minutes to thermal tools

Q

What are the four different kinds of Vehicle stopping methods?

A

1) Vehicle Arresstor-absorbs impact using a low to moderate restive force (weights dragged by vehicle, piles of sand)
2) Crash cushion-stiff restive force to absorb momentum (Water plastic containers, empty steel barrels with supports.
3) Inertia devices-exchanges moment with a vehicle during impact, small concrete shapes and unanchored sand filled barrels.
4) Rigid Device: Very high restive force to stop vehicles in a short distance Massive concrete shapes, well anchored steel structures.

17
Q

How long does it take to defeat 3 door hinges?

A

Up to 1 minute

18
Q

How long does it take to defeat crash bars?

A

Up to 1 minute

19
Q

What are utilty ports?

A

Any type of unframed opening other than a window or door.

20
Q

What are the naming convetions for fire rated safes?

A

SMNA - A,B,C
Former UL - A, B, C
Present UL - 350-4 hours, 350-2 hours, 350-1 hour

21
Q

What the the three traditional criteria for fire resistive vault construction

A

1) Reinforced concrete with steal rods at least 0.5 inches in diameters spaced 6 inches apart and running at right angles in both directions.
2) A structural steal frame protected with at least 4 inches of concrete, brickwork, or its equal tied with steel ties or wire mesh on an 8 in pitch.
3) Fire resistance is determined by wall thickness
