What does it mean to remember your baptism?
a. If you are not living according to God’s Word – Remember your baptism and follow the Word
b. If you are feeling guilty over sin or unworthy – Remember your baptism and your sins are gone
What happens in Baptism?
a. God’s Word (connected with the water) is applied to a sinner for the forgiveness of sins, to create faith, and to make them a new creation in Christ.
b. Our sinful-self dies and we rise as a child of God.
c. We are connected to the death and resurrection of Jesus
d. We are brought into the Body of Christ
Why baptize babies?
a. Because babies are born with sin
b. Because God can give the gift of faith to babies

What should always go hand and hand with baptism?
a. Teaching
b. For babies we baptize and then teach

What do we get in the Lord’s Supper?
a. The Body and Blood of Jesus and Bread and Wine
b. This is a miracle that happens because of the presence of the Word of God in the Supper
Can anyone receive the Lord’s Supper?
The Bible says that we should prepare ourselves before receiving the Supper
How is a person prepared to receive the Supper?
a. They confess their sins
b. They believe that Jesus is really present in the Supper (Body & Blood) to forgive their sins
c. They desire to turn away from their sin (Everyone continues to struggle with sin, but our desire should be to leave our sin behind)
Why do we want people to be taught God’s Word and believe before coming to the Lord’s Supper?
The Bible says that receiving the Supper without recognizing the Body of Christ is harmful.
Where do we learn about the Triune God?
Through the Bible – The Word of God
What is the Word of God?
a. The Word of God is the Bible
b. The “Word” is another name of the 2nd Person of the Trinity (Jesus)
What do we believe about the Bible?
a. It is true and without error. We take it for what it says. We add and subtract nothing.
b. It reveals God’s plan of salvation in and through Jesus
How does the Holy Spirit work through the Word?
The Holy Spirit works through the Word to reveal Jesus and to create and strengthen faith
In what ways does the Word come to us?
a. The written and spoken Word (The Bible)
b. Baptism (The Word combined with the water)
c. Lord’s Supper – Body & Blood of Jesus (The Word combined with the bread and wine)
What is the Bible all about?
The Bible is all about Jesus!
In what two ways does God’s Word speak to us?
a. It speaks a Word of Law – The Law shows us our sin (S.O.S) – The Law Kills
b. It speaks a Word of Gospel – The Gospel shows us our Savior (S.O.S) – The Gospel Saves
