What is the Acetic Acid Test & what is it for?

• It is to determine the presence of protein in the urine (Proteinuria). Ideally, there shouldn’t be any protein bcs they are large molecules which can’t bypass the kidney filter. Presence of albumin means there could be renal problems.

In pregnant women, proteinuria means she may have preeclampsia which is a serious condition during pregnancy
