A driver and officer shall plan to avoid backing situations. When possible how should the driver position the vehicle at the incident scene?
Whenever possible, position a vehicle so that has A forward egress route and avoid situations that require backing or close quarter maneuvering.

When only one spotter is available, the driver shall identify which position of the vehicle is more critical when backing. A spotter will follow the drivers preference.
May a vehicle mounted back up camera be used to substitute for a backer?
A vehicle mounted back up camera is not a substitute for a backer.
When backing a vehicle, what must a driver do if they must visualize something other than the backer?
If a driver must visualize something other than a backer, the vehicle must come to a complete stop.
How should the driver proceed in backing the apparatus in the event a back or is not available?
If no backer is available, the driver must walk around the vehicle to verify that no obstruction or hazard exists before backing. The driver shall turn on four way flashers, emergency warning lights, and tap horn as a warning before backing.
Which position(s) is responsible for making the driver aware of obstructions to include both sides, above, and below the vehicle?
Both the backer and the spotters are responsible. 
What’s PPE must the backers or spotters where when backing a vehicle?
Backers and spotters must wear a high visibility traffic safety vest, structural firefighting or special operations personal protective jacket.
