B757 Engines Flashcards
What is the primary thrust indication?
EPR
What does “Bluegrass” (VVVVVV) on upper EICAS indicate?
Secondary indications should be visible in the lower screen
What does the EEC do for PW engines?
Powered by Permanent Magnetic Alternators
- Provides EPR protection
- Generate max EPR limit
- Operates by trimming fuel
- If EPR input fails, controlled by N1
5
Max EPR is displayed how & provided by what?
Amber ticks
EEC or TMC
REV amber above EPR Means what?
Reverser(s) are in transit
Annunciations associated with EPR?
Thrust reference mode Reference/Target EPR indication Reference EPR ASSUMED Temp (D-TO) Thrust Reverser Indication
Command EPR Sector
White band - indication of the monetary diff between commanded and existing EPR
Command Thrust Level
Display of thrust lever position
Extension of EPR pointer
TMC
Calculates a reference EPR using ADC based on
• existing pressure altitude
• ambient temp
TMC MODES
Selected on TMSP
TO D-TO CLB CLB 1 92% CLB 2 85% CRZ CON
Magenta EPR means?
Controlled by AFDS VNAV
positioned at a nominal target EPR by the FMC - may not correlate with the digital EPR
How can you set ASSUMED TEMP
- TMSP
2. MCDU
How can you manually (MAN) set EPR?
Thrust Ref SET control on the EICAS control panel
- pull out the inner ring
- MAN appears as thrust mode annunciation and EPR slews to 1.55.
Autothrottles do not respond to MAN
Remain in active TMC MODE when inner ring is pulled out
MAN is not authorized by PHB
Reduced thrust annunciation of D-TO appears when?
Assumed temp is above ambient
Reduced Climb available in which modes? When?
Preselected using TO D-TO CON CRZ
Throughout the Operational envelope
