What does the Pituitary Gland do
The ‘master gland’
Release hormones that trigger other glands to release hormones to carry out change

Thyroxine which is involved in regulating rate of metabolism, heart rate and temperature

Oestrogen

Testosterone which controls puberty and sperm production
What hormone does the Adrenal Gland and what is it used for
Adrenaline which is used to prepare the body for ‘fight or flight’ response

Insulin and Glucagon which regulates the blood glucose level
Difference between Nerves and Hormones
Nerves are FAST whereas Hormones are SLOW
Nerves act for a SHORT time whereas Hormones act for a LONG time
Nerves act on a PRECISE area whereas Hormones act in a GENERAL area
