What are the stages of organisation?
Cells to tissue to organ to organ systems to organisms
What is a tissue
A group of cells with similar structure and function working together
What is an organ
A collection of tissues which all work together
What is an organ system
A whole multicellular organism they’re made up of a number of organ systems
Parts of human digestive system
Oesophagus, liver, stomach, large intestine, small intestine, rectum
Definition of small intestine
Breaks down nutrients in the food
Large intestine
Takes the water from food
Rectum
All the waste food and dead cells go out the rectum
Pancreas
They monitor the amount of glucose in blood
Oesophagus
Food goes through its pipe
Live
Produces substance called bile which neutralises the acid
Stomach
Stores food while its digesting
Bile
Is used to break down liquids it increases to an alkaline solution so that it neutralises acid
Enzyme
They are produced in the glands, there are 3 types called amylase
