B206L3 Fuel System Flashcards
Fuel cells
3 interconnected bladder (crashworthy) fuel cells. 2 front and 1 aft cell. Dual element ejector pump connects the cells.
Dual element ejector pump
Located between forward fuel cells. Transfers fuel from forward cells aft when boost pumps are operating.
Interconnect tube
Permits flow between forward cells, and in case of boost pump failure, allows for gravity transfer to aft cell.
Fuel Quantity Probes
1 forward cell and 2 aft cell probes sending signal to fuel gage. Can view FWD only fuel using switch in cockpit.
In-line fuel filters
Protects the ejector pump from debris
In-line check valves
Prevents air from entering fuel system after boost pump failure when fuel level drops below ejector standpipe.
Airframe Fuel Filter
Bypass valve triggers warning light on instrument panel. Push to test button on top. Drain valve.
Low fuel warning switch
Located on fuel boost pump assembly and electrically connected to caution panel. Light illuminates when 50-75 lbs fuel remaining in aft cell.
Fuel Shutoff Valve
Located above aft fuel tank (not easily accessible) and is electrically operated.
