made up of- teres major, teres minor, triceps long head and humerus
quadrangular space contains- axillary nerve and posterior humeral circumflex artery
Due to:
– humeral fractures
– dislocations
– poorly adjusted crutches (crutch palsy)
Signs and symptoms:
– teres minor and deltoid weakness
—- resulting in weak abduction of the shoulder
– loss of cutaneous sensation to superior posterior and lateral arm
