Define hypocrisy
The pretense of having feelings or characteristics one does not possess; especially, the deceitful assumption of virtue
To whom was Jesus speaking to an avoiding hypocrisy?
His disciples
(v. 1-3) Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees. Explain
The yeast of the Pharisees. Beware of hypocrites, remember, you cannot hide from God!
(v. 4-9) Do not fear those who kill the body and after that cannot do more. What should you do?
Fear the one who can kill the body and afterwords, throw your body into hell.
Acknowledge the son of God and he will acknowledge you before the angels
Do not be ashamed of the son of God or he will be ashamed of you.
(v. 10-12) Everyone who speaks a word against the son of man will be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against The Holy Spirit will not be forgiven
Remember to have a right relationship with the Holy Spirit. The Pharisees knew that Jesus was the son of God and they still lied to the people telling them that he was not.

Falsely accusing and slandering
(v. 13-34) It was very common in those days to go to rabbis and ask them to settle the dispute between family members. What was Jesus response?
Who appointed me as ruler in judge Or arbitrator between me and you?
Cultivate right values
Don’t place your faith in money. Seek the kingdom of God first
Have a heavenly perspective

You are God’s property. Take care of your health, finances, and everything that you are put in stewardship of
(v. 49-53) Stay radically committed
As a follower of Christ. Follow me, as I follow Christ
(v. 54-57) Be spiritually discerning
Be alert and be aware
(v. 58-59) Have a predisposition to reconcile
You’re my needs to be made up ahead of time to forgive people. For if you forgive those your father who is in heaven will forgive you
