Avionics Flashcards
What avionics are installed on the G100:
Collins Pro Line 4 package that includes comm, nav and APFD system
What FMS is installed on the G100:
Dual Universal FMC’s with an 802.5 database
Static wick on the G100 are in groups of:
How many static wicks are on the aircraft:
How many can be missing:
4
20
See the CDL
How many ADC’s are required for the AP and YD to operate:
How many AHRS systems are required for the AP and YD to operated:
One - If controlling ADC fails the AP and YD will trip OFF, but can be re-engaged after the opposite ADC has been reverted to
Both
What would occur if you engaged the AP without the FD turned ON:
Nothing Good, FD’s must be ON prior to engaging the AP
When do you ARM or ENGAGE FMS HDG (LHDG):
ARM / ENGAGE prior to departure if expecting radar vectors (RV) to join an airway or in flight when being radar vectored for an approach (you must select INTERCEPT or go DTO a fix long your route to actually join
If being vectored for an approach, what should you do immediately following engaging FMS HDG (LHDG): WHY:
ACTIVATE the approach (LSK R3) on the controlling FMC
WHY: Because it extends the centerline from the first fix on final and clears out all fixes between you and that fix
How do you ARM or ENGAGE FMS HDG:
On the Controlling FMC:
- NAV SOURCE FMS
- Select HDG (FMC LSK R1) and type in new heading if appropriate
- ENTER / ENTER
- Select NAV on FCP
- Check for appropriate annunciation
When on a dogleg to FINAL and CLEARED for approach, what must you do:
ILS -
LOC -
RNAV / GPS -
After TUNE and IDENTIFYING appropriate nav frequencies and checking for ghost needles:
- ILS - Select APP on FCP / INTERCEPT on FMC
- LOC - Select NAV on FCP / INTERCEPT on FMC
- RNAV / GPS - Select INTERCEPT on FMC
In lieu of being cleared for an ILS approach you’re given a intercept the localizer clearance, how can this be accomplished:
Change the NAV SOURCE to LOC and select NAV on the FCP
Why are the Avionics never turned ON without AC power the buses:
They would overheat, cooling fans are AC powered
When will the NOSE TEMP HI annunciator illuminate:
When will back up BLOWERS (fans) come ON:
130 deg F
At 105 deg F assuming AC power is available
Where does the STBY ATT gyro get it’s power:
2 Avionics Bus and from an internal back battery that would last 30 min
