- water rudders (connected by cables and pulleys to the air rudder)
Advantages of more than required compartments in floats
1) strength - more compartments = stronger floats
2) weight - less volume for water during leak
3) balance - less sloshing of water

- if aircraft used for flight training and within 50 NM can be removed for 90 days with placarding
