If the autopilot is on, what happens to the Flight Directors if a FD button is pressed on the FCP?
Nothing
If the autopilot is off, what happens to the Flight Directors if the onside FD button is pressed on the FCP?
It turns off both FD’s
If the autopilot is off, what happens to the Flight Directors if the offside FD button is pressed on the FCP?
It turns off the offside FD only
What is the function of the green lights on either side of the buttons on the FCP?
It indicates that each of the 2 FCC’s have determined that conditions are correct for the selected mode
What does the sync button do?
Commands the flight director to the current attitude of the aircraft
What do the TOGA buttons do?
Arm either the TO or GA Flight Director modes and turns off the autopilot
What is the function of the lateral Go Around or Takeoff modes?
Generates a wings level command with a 5° bank limit, and also using the heading upon activation
What happens to the pitch attitude if you are in TO mode and experience an engine failure?
The pitch is rescheduled to 10° pitch up
What is required to activate the autopilot?
- 2 Flight Directors
- 2 Flight Control Computers
- 1 STAB trim
- 1 Yaw Damper
- No significant instability of the aircraft
