Difficulty with:
- communication & language
- forming relationships with people
- limited pattern of behaviour + resistance to small changes in familiar surrounds

sensory overload: new: environment, people, change in routine
Smells: ZOE, dentist perfume
Auditory: Suction, handpieces, waiting room,
Tactile: cold, metal instruments in mouth, toothpaste taste, 3 in 1, ultrasonic scaling

what are potential dental features of autism patients?
A
- non-carious tooth surface loss
- caries depending on risk factors
- trauma/self-injurious behaviours (ulceration, trauma to lips, gingival etc)
