- Persistent deficits in social communication and interaction
and
- Restricted, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities
* Symptoms must be present early in development*
* Symptoms may not manifest until social demand exceeds limited capacity*

Clinical features of autism
- Language delay (expressive and/or receptive)
- Impaired social communication and interaction (lack of reciprocity, joint attention, nonverbal communication, social relationships)
- Restricted, repetitive behaviors (hand flapping, self injurious, Sameness, perception issues)
- Associated Sx (impaired intellect, motor delays, savant skills)

Exam = Growth, skin exam (woods lamp for Tub. Scl.), Neuro for focal signs
Testing = Vision, hearing, lead, language, occup therapy, PT eval
Refer to developmental peds or autism center for final Dx
