What is the third way?
A political ideology very close to the centre that advocates for lower taxes, but supports some socialist programs.
What is national liberalism?
Essentially the same as third way, but more focused on one’s own country.
What is senatorialism?
The belief that a country should be run by a senate or a fairly small group of people.
Where is constitutional monarchism on the political compass?
On the authoritarian right part, fairly central.
What is one of of main beliefs of liberalism?
That the government exists to protect people’s rights and individuality.
What is progressive conservatism?
A political ideology, focusing on the belief that the government should protect traditional values, but should also allow change.
What is eco-conservatism?
The belief that the government should protect what is already there, but specifically relating to the environment.
What is confederalism?
A political ideology which believes that individual states should be stronger and have more power than the central government that connects them all.
Where is elective monarchism on the political compass?
On the centre of the authoritarian right bit of the compass
What is conservatism?
The belief that that government should protect what is already there.
What is liberal conservatism?
The belief that the government should protect tradition, and that anything that goes against tradition should be frowned upon.
What is national conservatism?
Conservatism but with more of a sense of national pride.
What is fiscal conservatism?
Very far right on the political compass, the belief that everyone should keep their own money and the government should protect this.
What is neo-conservatism?
The belief that what a person or country does is right, and their values should be ‘forced’ onto other people/countries (or other people should be encouraged to adopt these values).
What is traditional conservatism?
The belief that traditional values should be forced onto other people.
What is paleo-conservatism?
The political ideology which focuses on ‘not getting involved’ with what other countries are doing, including not declaring war and not giving aid to other countries.
What is Christian theocracy?
Politically, it is the belief that the government should enforce Christian beliefs on its citizens.
What was feudalism?
A belief (mainly during the Medieval Era) that there should be people who own the land, and then the people who live on the land must work for them to get to live there.
What is colonialism?
Where a government protects the rights of its citizens to go to other places and take all of the place’s natural resources to make a profit.
What is authoritarian capitalism?
The belief that the people who have the most money should have the most power.
What is corporate autocracy?
Where corporations are in control of everything.
What is imperialism?
(Can essentially be defined by what countries do when they have an empire)
What is conquestalism?
The belief that a country’s worth is defined by how much land and resources it has, so essentially it was imperialism, but continuously taking over countries and never stopping.
What is aristocracy?
Where a country is run by a few unelected people.
