more than ……………. wild animals have been burned and at least …………………… cows and sheep

A

1 billion wildlife
100,000 cows and sheep

the actual figures will be much higher as habitat loss will leave the survivors starving

Q

a secondary effect from the fires were:

A
  • severe floods caused by the impermeable burned ground which led to flash floods
  • though the rains put out many fires and increased humidity levels, so dampening fuel, the hardened ground could not absorb any water, so flash floods occurred
