This refers to the rapid assistance given to people or countries in immediate distress to relieve suffering, during and after man made emergencies and natural disasters

This is where aid is given by one country directly to another country
- most common. Largest part of aid
- infrastructure

What is multilateral aid?
This is the aid that is provided through international organisations (world bank,UN,WHO). It combines the donations from a number of countries then distributes them to the recipients
- potential to reach many people
- decrease poverty
- promote global health and sustainable human development
What is non government organisation (NGO) aid?
Take different approaches to aid which include specific projects or programs, emergency aid, volunteering, education and development
