vesicular (normal) and bronchial (harsh sounding, inspiration n expiration are equal and there is a pause in between -> consolidation)

A
quiet(reduced) breath sounds - reduced air entry (consolidation,collapse, pleural effusion)

what are the different added sounds and what do they suggest
A
wheeze - asthma/copd
coarse crackles - pneumonia,bronchiectasis,fluid overload
fine crackles - pulmonary fibrosis

how to assess vocal resonance
A
ask patient to say 99 repeatedly and auscultate. increased volume - increased tissue density
decreased volume - fluid outside lung
