The Australian Agency for International Development is responsible for managing the Australian Governments overseas aid programs. It aims to assist developing countries reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development

Australia’s development assistance focus on poverty is guided by the millennium development goals, the internationally agreed targets for poverty reduction

Implementing Australia’s Aid Program
Provides fund to international organisations, for example WHO
Provides fund to non government organisations such as World Vision and Oxfam Australia
Provides staff in emergency relief situations
Contracts aid to work to Australian and international companies
Assist governments in developing countries delivering economic and community services
