He feels comfort in her house. He also feels safe. Emphases his safeness toward her. The darkness is normally scary for him but because he is in her house it’s not scary at all.

She is being referred to buckets as she is kind of out there and close to nature and that she is a part of it.
It’s wet around the house, so this show how she has adapts to her surroundings

Word choice
Poet links Julia to a collection of simple domestic objects. These objects show her natural, traditional side and that she is careful with money.
“silenced in the absolute black”
In contrast to the liveliness and activity of Julia’s working life, death has silenced her. It is also a link to the stanza three, as he feels safe and comfort that she is in the darkness because he felt safe with her while he was lying in the darkness.
