Audiogram Flashcards
audiogram
tracks the level of hearing in the left and right ear
*plots hearing based off of frequency/pitch (Hz) and volume (dB)
how is right ear sensitivity mapped on an audiogram
red circles
how is left ear sensitivity mapped on an audiogram
blue X’s
frequency axis of an audiogram
deep tones = far left (125 Hz)
mid tones = middle
high tones = far right (8000 Hz)
volume axis of audiogram
soft sound = top of screen (0 dB)
LOUD = bottom of screen (110-120 dB)
how can bone conduction hearing levels be used to interpret hearing loss as either conductive or sensorineural
*if bone conduction test results are better than air conduction test results: conductive hearing loss
*if air conduction test results are better: sensorineural hearing loss
