is assigning credit for a conversion. It is common to assign an attribution to a marketing channel in order to ascertain the effectiveness of the investment and the roi.
First click attribution
Assigns all of the credit for conversion to the first marketing channel the customer visits leading up to the conversion.
Linear attribution
Assigns a little bit of value to each of the marketing channels that lead to a conversion.
Why assign attribution?
The point of attribution is to help you understand the value of your marketing channels and how they work together in leading to a conversion. This helps you to allocate your marketing budget accordingly.
