When is revelation allowed
A lawyer need not wait for formal proceeding to be instituted but may reveal information to prevent such action
How much can be revealed?
No more than necessary to vindicate lawyer.
Should the lawyer inform the client before revealing confidential information?

Lawyer may disclose information to comply with a court order or with other law.

Current clients: Specific rules a lawyer shall not use information RELATING TO THE REPRESENTATION OF A CLIENT to the DISADVANTAGE of the client unless the client gives INFORMED CONSENT, except as permitted or required by these Rules.
