What is the definition of Atrial Flutter?
A
SVT characterised by succession of rapid atrial depolarisation waves

What does the ECG show in Atrial flutter?
A
- Saw tooth appearance
- Atrial rate is often 300bpm dependant on degree of AV block, 2:1 block means the ventricular rate will be 150/min

What is the management of Atrial Flutter?
A
- Adenosine and cardioversion (more sensitive to cardio version than AF - thus lower radio frequencies can be used)
- Radiofrequency ablation of tricuspid valve isthmus is curative for most patients
