A

AF treated with digoxin (blocks AVN)

–> slows ventricular response to AF

  • reduces symptoms of breathlessness, weak pulse etc

What are the complications of AF

A

stagnant blood in the atria –> forms clots

–> when atria do contract (randomly) blood clot may embolise to the brain –> stroke
