What is an isotope?
A
Atoms of the same element with the same number of protons but different number of neutrons.

What is an ion?
A
Elements that gave lost or gained electrons.

What is half-life?
A
the time it takes for the number of nuclei of the isotope in a sample to halve.

What is an alpha particle?
A
made from 2 protons and 2 neutrons, it is like a helium nucleus.
It is blocked by paper and skin.

A
high speed electrons from the nucleus as a neutron turns into a proton. It is blocked by 5mm of aluminum foil.

A
electromagnetic radiation from the nucleus. They are blocked by lead.
