Q

How do you draw atoms based soley on the periodic table?

A
  1. Find your element.
  2. Look at the atomic weight. The atomic weight is directly proportional to the amount of electrons.
  3. Determine which row on the periodic table the element is in - in the top row there is 1 shell, in the 2nd row, there are two shells and so on.
  4. Draw a nucleus with the element inside surrounded by the shells.
  5. Add the number of electrons.
  6. BAM! done

Q

What did Democritus do to benefit the atom development? What backup did he have?

A

Democritus initially proposed that the universe is entirely proposed of small particles called atoms. He tested this by crushing objects into their tiniest form of particles.
