Give the arguments against dropping the bomb.

A

P1). They chose nonmilitary areas rather than military places.
R). The only legal deaths in war are military deaths. There was nearly no military the with every little military importance.
P2). The Americans could have bombed an uninhabited war base but they decided to bomb a big one and the power of the bombs were never explained to the Japanese and never understood the threat of the bomb.The japanese were going to surrender so there was no need to drop the atomic bomb
P3)..civvialans were brought in to save soldiers .Japanese lives were sacrificed for a political fight.
P4).The u.s just wanted to see what their money was worth and the fame of being the only country in the world with atomic bombs, show off their power and work.

What are the arguments for dropping the bomb?

A

P1: If they hadn’t dropped the bomb Japan wouldn’t have surrendered.
P2: The other alternative to dropping 2 atomic bombs was conventional war fare but that would cost a lot more and more damage would be done.
P3 More people would have lost their lives with normal war fare.
P4: At the time the Americans didn’t know that the uranium would have such a long term affect and you can’t look in hindsite.
