Medicaid (low incomes) and Medicare (over 65 or disabled).
MCO
Managed Care Organizations - primary care providers oversee comprehensive care and focus on preventative care and health promotion.
PPO
Preferred Provider Organizations - clients choose off of a list of providers and going off the list may cost more.
EPO
Exclusive Provider Organizations - clients choose from a list of providers within a contracted organization.
Long-term health insurance.
Covers long-term costs that Medicare wont cover.
This level of health care focuses on educating and equipping clients to reduce and control risk factors for disease (seat belt use, immunizations).
Preventative Health Care.
This level of health care emphasizes health promotion (scheduled screenings/appts, well baby care, nutrition counseling).
Primary Health Care.
This level of health care includes diagnosis and treatment of acute illness and injury (emergent care centers, hospital settings).
Secondary Health Care.
This level of health care involves the provision of specialized and highly technical care (Burn centers, oncology).
Tertiary Health Care.
This level of healthcare involves intermediate follow-up care for restoring health (rehab centers).
Restorative Health Care.
This level of healthcare addresses long-term or chronic healthcare needs (palliative care, hospice).
Continuing Health Care.
