Q

Cardiac circulation immediately after birth

A

the cardiac circulation of the newborn changes. The initial changes can take between 1 and 4 days, with a full completion of closure within the first 2 months. Closing these fetal circulation structures increases blood flow to the lungs and increases pressure throughout the body, increasing blood volume to all organs.
