ICS counseling tips
patients should rinse mouth to prevent thrush, most effective long-term control therapy for asthma, may increase pneumonia risk in COPD patients (immune suppression), use lowest effective dose (high dose increases risk for systemic side effects).

increase cAMP, relaxes bronchial smooth muscle and inhibit hypersensitivity mediators from mast cells (histamine and leukotrienes)

immune suppression; prevent and control inflammation
