Assessment > Ask about = quantity of use + frequency of use

History of Use = ask if currently using + address history

Interventions > address past use + help maintain sobriety (whats been working; tell me about habits; coping mechanisms; dealing with urges to use)

Not as severe as detox but 1st step when ct admits
having problem they cant control
Good for cts whose social network is drug users >

○ Out-Patient = good for increased support in cutting down use
> Less intensive issue

○ AA = know they have a problem + are ready to stop
