What is post traumatic amnesia?
Period of recovery following brain injury includong coma, disorientation and disturbed memory
What is the definition of disorientation?
Inability to locate self in time, place and location
What is the definition of anterograde amnesia?
Inability to remember the continuous flow of ongoing new experiences or the interval in which current events have not been stored
What is clinical neuropsychology?
“The applied science concerned with the behavioural expression of brain dysfunction”
Concerned with the impact of injury or disease on the cognition, emotion and behaviour of the individual.
Use a combination of information gathered through interview, observation, investigation and formal testing to inform their opinion on the patients diagnosis, prognosis or treatment

- Pre-morbid IQ
- Processing speed
- Memory and learning
- Executive functioning
- Perception
- Language
